Why You Should Read More Books

For some people, books are just means of providing information. But for others, books are means of living happily in this world. For some, books are just meant to be piled up in a corner. But for others, books are meant to be read – even to be displayed in front of other people.

Now, here’s why you should read more books:

It teaches you how to love.

Love is something we, humans, feel for another person. Love is something we, humans, feel for ourselves. But you know what? Love is also something we, humans feel for those characters who we’ve read growing up and becoming who they’re meant to be. Love is also something we, humans feel for those characters who we’ve read going through difficulties in life and going through life itself stronger than ever. Even more so, those characters I’ve mentioned? They’re parts of who we truly are. They’re parts of who other people truly are. Parts we have learned to love unconditionally over the years.

It teaches you how to accept.

In real life, difficulties can sometimes make us feel hopeless. But in book life, difficulties can make us feel hopeful. In real life, people can sometimes make us feel unloved. But in book life, people can make us feel loved. In real life, things can sometimes make us feel underprivileged. But in book life, things can make us more than privileged. And even more so, it makes us accept who we truly are and who other people truly are – no matter how the story ends and no matter how the characters live, without any judgments and without any reprimands, both in real life and in book life.
