Create stories and write songs while learning basic musical theatre technique!

PERFORMANCE PLAYHOUSE

Grades 2nd-4th / $275

Come and experience the fun of putting on a show.  Students will be cast, rehearsed and have a chance to perform in a popular children's show.  Elements of acting, dance/movement and singing will be taught and shared at the final performance.

Mondays from 5:15 - 6:30 pm

*Both classes run 12 weeks:

Feb. 22, Mar. 1, 8, 15, 22, 29

Apr. 12, 19, 26,  May 3, 10, 17.

Final performance and sharing on May 19 at 7 pm

Join us for a two-week, half-day immersion in the art of theatre! From singing, to acting, to theatrical makeup and set design, we'll cover it all, and put up a fantastic final show. All classes are staffed by our fantastic teaching artists, dedicated interns and stellar administrative staff.

The class day includes mind-expanding games, skill-enhancing classes, a good snack, creative explorations of set-building, costume making, and make-up design and then a fantastic rehearsal of a new show!

Conveniently located in the Maplewood Village, this new camp offering is the place to be at the end of the summer!

Classes Held 9 am - 1 pm

at the Burgdorff Cultural Center, 10 Durand Road

The Performance Classroom Philosophy

The Performance Classroom celebrates kids' natural imagination and creativity. Students develop the confidence to let their voice ring out in a public setting, the spirit to collaborate with their peers, and an appreciation for the joy of performing. Whether they go to Broadway or the board room, these skills will last a lifetime. Plus, they'll have a ton of fun!!
